Bumps on penis

by anonymous23733, Feb 19, 2009 04:57PM
Okay so for the past like year or so i've been getting bumps every so often on my penis. For a period of time i was itchy all over. The bumps that appear are like 1/4 inch big and they are bothersome. Usually the only time they occur is if i masturbate frequently. Heres what normally occurs, i get a tingly feeling on a spot of skin and then a couple days later a bump appears, after it appears it gets like very itchy when it rubs against pants, there is fluid which is when it is ichy. After that it clears up. What bothers me is all the research i've done and freaking out. I really have no idea what it could be but i figured it wasn't herpes because it doesn't really scab up and the bump doesn't start out as small clusters of blisters. I dunno if you could help me indicate something that it would be or if it sounded like an std. I thank you for whatever could do for me in advance.

Hi,

This could be an irritation, infection or inflammation of the hair follicles. Irritation could be due to soap, detergent, clothing or substances that you use. This usually resolve after the offending substance is removed. Another differential could be folliculitis or inflammation of the hair follicles, which may result from your activity. This may present as bumps and sometimes itchiness. This also goes away on its own after a while. If it persists, or other symptoms arise, have this evaluated further by your doctor for proper management. To rule out STD, several tests may be done. Direct clinical examination is important.

Take care and keep us posted.
