Chafed skin from masturbation

Hi.  I am a 38 year old virgin and a couple of months ago I chafed the underside of my penis while masturbating.  There was not any bleeding and my urinary functions are excellent.  No burning while I pee.  No prostate issues.  The only problem that I have had is soreness.  I went to the doctor's office and my doctor prescribed Bactroban for me.  I took it for about a month and abstained from masturbation.  My penis healed and was getting better to the point where I felt comfortable masturbating again.  However, it was not 100% healed and earlier this month I think I re-aggravated it.  So, I re-applied the Bactroban, but after it ran out I started using Lotrimin AF and Polysporin.  Since that time it has improved and I would say that it is about 90% healed.  However, it is not totally healed yet.  My question is: how long do you think it will take for it to completely heal?  And, should I continue to use Polysporin?  Thank you.

Chafing of the penile skin is common, and it can be painful, but it can be easily relieved with a penis health creme that contains Shea butter as an ingredient.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Chafing occurs when the skin becomes irritated by the friction caused by rubbing – either against other skin or against a foreign material. Wash the areas several times with fresh water.

Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. Also wear cotton undergarments. Application of mild corticosteroid cream and oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen/acetaminophen are also helpful. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
