Cluster of Pimples

Over the past year I have developed mild/moderate acne, which I have been fairly successful in treating over the past few months with benzoyl peroxide 2.5%.

However, I have one area on my face on my left cheek, further back towards my ear that will not clear up and is unlike the spots I get on the rest of my face.

It started with a few pimples there last February.  Every few weeks I get new pimples there right on top of where the old ones were.  Then when they die down I can feel that the skin is still inflamed and there are new pimples forming.  The skin in this area is starting to become uneven and pigmented.  I cant seem to stop these localized breakouts, even with copious amounts of benzoyl peroxide.  I don't get more than 2 pimples in the same place on the rest of my face and these eventually go away.

I am fairly happy with the rest of my face, is there anything I could do to clear up this one specific area.  Time doesn't seem to be helping as its been six months and the area only looks worse.

Thanks for any advice!

i know what you're going through!  for a month or so now I've been getting so many pimples on the creases of my nose...I can't seem to make them go away because just like yours, they're in a bad spot...very oily there and for you (if you're a girl) your hair is probably touching there a lot, which not only adds oil & bacteria but sort of traps it there.  sometimes i have them on top of eachother too, which is a really bad situation cuz if you pop one or both they just seem to spread oil to eachother and they ALWAYS get reinfected & cause more.  lately it hasn't been as bad...but i'm not sure exactly why.  if you're not washing twice a day that will make a big difference.  another thing i did was throughout the day just remove the oil from the area...i have just been using a damp towel but they make oil absorbing sheets that work good and cleanser sheets but you have to be careful not to use the cleanser too much or it will dry out your skin too much which will cause it to produce more oil, and make more zits.  so i'm not sure if it will work...idk if thats why mine started dying down, and they're not really gone anyway.  but maybe it will help.

acne is not caused by popping a pimple and spreading oil to another. just for the record. it is either a bacterial issue or a hormonal issue. you can't catch it and you can't spread it. bacteria in the pore builds up, there is an overproduction of sebum that causes the little pore to clog. that's what happens

you may need oral antibiotics. washing twice a day is a good idea.an exfoliator weekly is okay too.  remember that just because your skin is acne prone does not mean it is sensitive thugh. don't over do the meds. follow the directions closely and if you don't improve soon then you'll need medical intervention with either topical or oral medication.
