Clinically Salmon patch are light, not well defined and tend to fade by 2 years.In contrast portwine stains are deeper, more well defined and tend to persist indefinitely
While clinical diagnosis is sufficient those with indefinite findings may benefit from Dermoscopy.a non-invasive technique.
