i can’t stop popping my pimples or picking at my skin

I’ve been to a dermatologist and have taken acne pills, and had lots of creams, i’ve even had laser treatments on my face and nothing had helped my acne. i was recently diagnosed with pcos (polycystic ovaries) and i’m 15, 16 in april. i was put on birth control which hasn’t help anything. i read online that the reason i’m so addicting to popping my pimples is because i have ocd. i’m embarrassed to talk to family and anyone else about it. please give me advice on what to do!! i don’t want to live like this anymore!!

Just wanted to check in with you to see how you were doing?  Were you able to talk to your parents about this?  Were they helpful at all?

hi!! i would have answered sooner but i forgot my account info!! thank you so much for the advice! it helped a lot! i started using curology and i haven’t touched my face! i sometimes slip up but i have much less of a desire! you really helped me a lot!

I'm so sorry you are going through this- I know it seems like this is the end of the world embarrassing for you, but trust me when I say, you are not the only teenager to feel this way and you will get through it!  I know this is totally embarrassing to talk about- but it's very important that you do talk about any feelings of OCD or anxiety you are having.  If you aren't sure about talking to your parents, see if they can take you to your doctor and have an open and honest conversation there- and take anything you read online with a grain of salt- MOST of the time, it really just makes you more anxious than it helps.  

As far as the acne, I have heard many good things about the Unblemish treatment from Rodan & Fields- some have stated that it worked even after the dermatologists treatments.  I think you can just Google Rodan & Fields to find a web site to order it on- if that's something you would like to give a try.
