Discoloration of scrotum

by eddie44, Aug 02, 2008 02:45PM
Hi. Is it possible to save some kind of fungus on your scrotum without having jock itch. I have discoloration of the entire scrotum and it's quite uncomfortable it's almost tight. It does not itch though.

Hi

Jock itch or a fungal infection usually presents with itchiness. Scaling and redness are also noted .In your case, other differentials may include irritant dermatitis and contact dermatitis. If this is the case, then you may need to determine what could be causing this. The groin is usually covered and the moisture and sweat may encourage colonization of fungal infections. Also, they may increase likelihood of dermatitic skin conditions.

Wash the area with warm water. Have skin scrapings done and have these microscopically evaluated. Applying miconazole cream which is an antifungal may be able to help. Discuss this with your dermatologist
