Do I need a dermatologist?

Do I need a dermatologist?

I have had foreskin problems for a year now, it started when I washed my penis with Dettol Anti-Bacterial soap (commonly used for spots on the face). I did not have spots on my penis but was just washing normally. Anyway this caused slits all around the tip of my foreskin (kind of like cuts). My first GP just told me to use vaseline to heal the foreskin so I did and that healed the cuts but my foreskin was then very tight, when my penis is erect the foreskin is so tight that it looks like it is strangling the penis head (strange I know).

Anyway I got a second opinion and was prescribed Flucloxacillin (an anti-biotic). This was FANTASTIC and I thought it had cured the problem but it came back after I stopped taking it (the tight foreskin). The doctor prescribed me it for a second time and "yes" it worked again.

But now its back again, the doctor wont prescribe me Flucloxacillin anymore because he says long term use causes terrible side effects. He told me either to live with it or get circumcised.

I dont want to butcher myself with a circumcision and my doctor wont help me anymore :(

Is there anything I can do? I have no sexual health diseases and its really effecting my daily life, I dont want to go out or find a partner. Its causing me deep depression and my doctor will no longer help me with it.

Im only 24 and have alot of my life to go yet but there is no point in me finding a sexual or life time partner because I just know that if I try to have sex my foreskin will literally split wide open!

Someone said to me that I should DEMAND to be referred to a dermatologist, is that the best thing I can do? I really dont want to be circumcised I dont agree morally with butchering myself like that.

Hello,
It looks as if adhesions have formed due to the cuts and cracks on penis. Treatment includes application of vitamin E and a steroid cream to the foreskin up to three times a day for about a month to loosen the adhesive ring.

If the symptoms persist then circumcision may be needed for which I suggest you to get an evaluation done from a dermatologist.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
