Thank You for answering my question Dr.
I did see a dermatologist and I did have a skin biopsy ( inconclusive ) she said that it was allergic dermatitis because I had a couple of bug bites, which is what I thought it was before I went to the doctor so I took 50mg of benadryl and when that did nothing I took 100mg of benadryl to get relief but it didn't work at all I didn't even get tired from the high dosage it was like I took nothing at all. I’m still using the J&J Baby wash and Jergens lotion ( it was all I could afford ) so far the scales haven’t returned but I still itch like crazy and I still have the bumpy skin it also has spread to my upper arms.
I’ve been like this for 2 months it’s gotten to the point to where I keep my nails sharp to prevent bruising I have no money. I don’t know what to do I can’t stand this itching and I can’t get any help for this.
Hello,
From the symptoms it looks like hives or urticaria in response to an allergic reaction. You can take some antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin. You may also need topical and oral steroids which are available under prescription. Also wear cotton clothes.
Also try lubricating the skin frequently, avoiding harsh soaps and cleansers, preventing scratching or rubbing whenever possible, protecting skin from excessive moisture, irritants, and rough clothing, maintaining a cool, stable temperature and consistent humidity levels, limiting exposure to dust, cigarette smoke, pollens, and animal dander. If the symptoms persist then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing
