Erythema multiforma

by coocoopop, Mar 08, 2008 09:07AM
I had the flu 1 weeks ago. It seems as soon as my fever broke firm little bumps started appearing under my skin on the back part of my fingers on my right hand, the  toes on my left foot on the top and bottom, the ball of my left foot, and at the back of my right knee. It itches worse than anything I have ever known. The itch is 50 x worse than athletes foot. Antifungal cream did nothing. A solution of bleach and water stopped the itch for 2 hours then it came back.
Do you have any new news on this problem?

Hi,

Have you taken any medications for your flu?

Were the medications taken pior to the onset of these lesions?

Aside from the hands and feets, are there other areas involved such as the lips ?

How would you describe these lesions?

Are they reddish ,bluish or skin colored?

How large are they?

Erythema multiforme may be a differential here as well as an urticaria. These conditions may be easily diagnosed based on a complete medical history and physical examination.Erythema multiforme is usually associated with an underlying bacterial or viral infection. It may spontaneously resolve or may require further intervention.

I suggest you have yourself assessed by an internist or dermatologist. You may need oral medications.
