Excisional Biopsy

As I appreciate everyone's answers from my last posts, I still can't stand waiting for my second test results.  Today is the sixth day.  I'm probably going to have a heart attack waiting for these results.  Here's the questions again:  first report is .49 mm melanoma, thin.  Doc says chances of spreading and spreading to lymph nodes is slim.  What is your opinion?  The melanoma is on my arm (I hadn't mentioned that before).  Thanks again!

Hi

I understand your concern and it is not easy to be in a situation like this. The first histopath showed a melanoma which is highly localized. Highly localized melanoma as in your case may readily be treated by wide surgical excision. There are various stage in melanoma. To clarify this you may ask your physician how yours is classified.

Let us take this one step at a time. Discuss with your doctor all your fears and concerns. I know this is not easy .However, stay positive. I believe you are being managed well at this point.

Hey Twinny,
I sent you a message back. Just wanted to also reiterate...I'm pretty sure that if there was something bad going on, you'd know by now. And there's really not an easy way for it to spread to the lymph nodes when it's that superficial/thin. Post when you get the results, ok? Have you called the doc and bugged them?
