I have a fungal infection spreading on my backside and my inner thigh also on my arm I have use the oral medication for 6 weeks it healed but came back while I was still on the medication I am scared what could be causing this
Hi Everyone, I have a same case with the one who created this post. I have it just a small area before around my private area, because of negligence it gets worsened and had a wider area affected. I had initial consultation, it was somewhat I have been given an antipruritic and antinflamatory steroid lotion. It relieved me of itch, I had skipped using of it at times and everyday the itch and the affected area worsened again. I then realized it will not cure this. I started browsing on the net for home remedies. I tried anti-fungal soap and had more frequent washing. Still the condition is not getting better. It came to a time, I have to try seeking for herbal treatments before having this be consulted to a derma. I bought a mortar and pestle, garlic and olive oil. I created an ointment out of crushed garlic with drops of olive oil. Applying the ointment makes you feel a hurtful burning sensation. My condition improved after and stops the infection from spreading. After sometime, itch come again after about more than 8 hours of application and it got my skin around it openly wounded because of friction around it. I do checked again the net. It tells me it is better I have to combine a couple of herbs so the fungus be totally exterminated and hardly will adapt to it. I cannot find wild oregano so I used any oregano I found along plants from my neighbors so now my formulation be Oregano leaves, Garlic and Olive Oil. Applying it has milder builder effect. It got me more feel of the burn when parts of my skin inflamed and wounded from friction. Now, the wound healed also with the inflammation. On the parts affected sometimes now less itchy small dots regrow after several hours I applied the ointment. I have to wash it again. Then apply again. I believe I have it controlled for now. I do look forward to really cure of it. I also took garlic supplements now. Though, my condition improved and part of my skin really are left scarred and as of the moment no fungi regrow and only controlled just near the scrotum. I'm looking forward if there is an additional thing I must do in order to totally cure of it. Maybe adding anti-fungal cream will already do afterwards. I do seek a dermatologist this coming week.

I'm having this skin disease. Looks like a fungal infection on my abdomen. If you want to see you can view my pictures. I'm having this for almost 2 years now. I'm in good hygiene and takes a bath everyday. I have tried using Sulfur soap but It didn't go away. I'm the only one in the family that has this kind of skin disease.
ya well over the counter anti-fungals only temporarily relieves the itching, the 2% ketaconazole cream that my doc prescribed me is just too strong or maybe its just creams in general. It temporarily relieves me but when it wears off my boys are just more irritated.Had to cancel my doc appt. for family emergency so I'll stick to the ketaconazole for a couple more weeks before I re-schedule but my hopes are not high for the ketaconazole.I'll keep the oral anti-fungals in mind when I see the doc.
Hello,
What you seem to be having is tinea cruris. Keep the skin dry as damp skin is an ideal site for fungi to multiply. Also wear cotton underwear and change them twice a day and do not share other people’s towels. Most cases of fungal infections respond to over-the-counter products, which contain any of several basic ingredients: miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine, ketaconazole and clotrimazole. You can consult a pharmacist and get any cream or lotion containing these ingredients.
If the symptoms persist then oral antifungals may be needed. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
