small red dots, dry skin, located on shaft of penis??

I have been with the same girl for about 6 months now. We are very sexually active and have sex 4 to 5 times a week. She is on the pill so we never use condoms.

A few weeks ago, out of no where I started to notice a few red dots on the shaft of my penis. I thought nothing of it, but lately they have been re-appearing and now today I noticed about 7 to 8 little red dots in my pubic region, a small cluster of little red spots under the head of my penis. Lately they seem to be very dry and sometimes itchy. Along with that there seems to be about another 2 or 3 small red spots located in different areas on the shaft of my penis.

Also some of the small red spots on the shaft of the penis seem to scab up.

I am starting to get worried! What is this? Does it sound like HPV or Herpes? What advise would you recommend?

Thanks!

Today it seems to be getting a little better but I noticed the area starting what seems like to dry up and become more of a white color, as well as flakes of skin peeling.
From what you have told me it sounds more along the lines of a fungal infection if anything. Definitely not folliculitis or a dermatitis.

If I do end up having this infection is it curable? What should I do now? Will it go away?

Thanks!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

During sexual activity it is possible to irritate the skin of the penis. There may be minor cuts and abrasions that may occur. These will be likely entry points for organisms found in the genitalia.

Your case may suggest a fungal infection ,folliculitis or a dermatitis.Fungal infection may present  with some scaling and itchiness.Folliculitis may present with reddish bumps with yellowish centers( contain pus) and usually involves hair follicles ( does this apply in your case)?A dermatitis may excoriate and weep ( wet lesions with clear discharge) and they may itch.

Do you have  any of these described?

Refrain from any sexual activity until your condition has been properly assessed. Wash the area with a mild and bland cleanser and use underpants that are loose and made of light material.

Have this assessed by your primary physician. Before application of any medications ,it is best to ascertain what could have caused the condition.
