MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

Acne or pimples is a skin disease caused by changes in the hair follicle and its associated sebaceous gland. Lesions heal slowly, and when one begins to resolve, others seem to crop up. Hormones likely play a role in the development of acne. Depending on its severity, acne can lead to scarring of the skin. Some of the large nodules were previously called cysts and the term nodulocystic, as in your case.

Acne treatment for mild cases usually involves self-care measures, such as washing your skin daily with a gentle cleanser and using topical antibiotics. On the other hand, acne treatment for severe cases usually includes one or more prescription medications.Phototherapy and laser, as well as cosmetic procedures have been used to remove the scars from acne.
