Fungus infection/dermatitis

Hello,
i have been diagnosed by my doctor with a fungal infection on my penis, also dermatitis...on my buttocks...
he gave me one anti fungal cream..and one other cream for the dermatitis...he told me for the dermatitis to apply for 10 days...i did and it hasnt gone away....but it has gotten better....
Should i buy a tube of that cream for dermatitis and apply it again untill is dissapears?

also....does anyone know how long a penile fungal usually infection last? is it contagious?...
i have been using the anti fungal cream for a some time now....im getting a little impatient.
BTW, i was tested for stds...so im sure its not any sort of sexual infection

thanks...

Hello,
Ideally you should use the cream only after getting it prescribed from your dermatologist as your doctor can examine you and then recommend the time span for which the cream is to be used. Using it for less period of time will be ineffective and for more period of time may predispose to side effects.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

In regards to the penile fungus infection...
i have added white vinegar to the cream and applied it
and it is rapidly disappearing...
How long should i continue to use the cream even after the infection seems gone?

Also, the dermatitis cream did improve my dermatitis...
im planning to go back to the cream...but it is too difficult for me to see a doctor....
is consulting the doctor really necessary?

Hello,
If the prescription cream for dermatitis is benefitting you, then you can use it after informing your doctor. For the fungal infections, yes they are contagious and so others should not use your personal belongings like towels and undergarments and also do not come in direct contact with the lesions. If the symptoms persist then please consult your dermatologist and get oral antifungals prescribed.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
