Peeling Skin/Itchiness on Penis

Well, I figured it was best to ask the question myself than to seek out information.  Honestly, I'm afraid that I've gotten herpes from my last previous encounter before getting back together with my girlfriend and I'm concerned for both my health and hers.  I've never had unprotected sex but did receive oral sex from a girl about a month ago.  I didn't notice any blisters of anything of the sort on the girl.  I noticed two days later I had these little red dots on the head of my penis and they disappeared rather quickly, within a day or two's time.  Then last week I had intercourse with my girlfriend, still using a condom, since I have never had unprotected sex.  You could say things are more on the aggressive side and I noticed that I developed these tiny red bumps on my penis more than before.   I asked a few friends and they told me that it can happen as a result of intercourse.  Adding more insult to the injury is the fact that masturbation is a very common process of mine, most likely to an unhealthy amount, and those tiny red bumps increased sensation in masturbation.  Later that evening as I discovered the increased sensation, I had protected sex with my girlfriend once more, non-oral.  I soon developed an itch and dry peeling skin on the head and on the area underneath.  I am not circumsized and the itchiness is only around the bottom of edge of the head of my penis.  Also, there are times when I do not immediately wash my penis after having sex with a condom, and the time before I noticed these changes, I did not wash the area for a number of hours, having gone directly to bed and spent most of the morning after without having showered either.  I want to believe this is just an issue of dry skin and I have not had any marks other than these tiny red bumps.

I had gone to the dermatologist and was told that there shouldn't be much to worry about.  Mostly due to friction and other kind of irritation. I was prescribed Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide Ointment.  I've noticed that my skin has been significantly better and is almost back to normal.  No little bumps, redness or peeling sking.  A little bit of the itchiness remains.  Should I still be concerned about the herpes?

Should I used Vitamin A and D lotion?  It's what I used to treat a tattoo I had gotten in May and I would assume that would be a good product.

Hi,

You need to maintain good personal hygiene and keep the area well moisturised.

Keep the area clean and wear clothes washed in a few drops of chlorhexidine preferably and dried in the sun. Wear lose, comfortable clothes. Keep the area well moisturised.

Apply calamine lotion and some over the counter antibacterial cream on the lesions.

You could take oral antihistamine or antiallergic medications for the itching.

Avoid sweat accumulation and any friction or trauma to the site.

Consult your doctor if the lesions still persist.

Post us if you have any doubts and update us about how you are doing.

Regards.

The red bumps have all disappeared for the most part, maybe one or two from what I can tell but they're gone for the most part.  The itchy feeling comes and goes but it's never long term.  It really just feels like a dry skin issue.

Hi,

The lesion would heal spontaneously in a few days. Consult your doctor to rule out a fungal infection or contact dermatitis.
