Glycopyrrolate and Cholinergic Urticaria question

Glycopyrrolate and Cholinergic Urticaria question

I started taking Robinul in the beginning of March as a treatment for axillary hyperhidrosis (excessive underarm sweating), and it worked great for the first month until I started developing a rash on my calves which has now expanded what I believe to be mild Cholinergic Urticaria...it makes sense since Robinul inhibits the body's ability to sweat, and not sweating is a cause of this skin condition.

On to the question...I stopped taking the Robinul and switched back to Drysol on Sunday, and my body is still becoming flushed and prickly/itchy, particularly on my feet and hands now. It happens even when the environment is cold. I'm just wondering how long might this last? Should my body return to normal after all the Robinul leaves my system and my body gets back to being able to sweat normally? Could the Robinul possibly have damaged anything? I'm taking a Loratadine antihistamine every day, whether or not it matters I'm not sure but I figure it might help the rash.

Thanks in advance! :)

Hello,
What you are having is urticaria or hives and they are common after medications. This should get better in the next few days. You can take the antihistaminics like Benadryl or Loratidine for the urticaria. Also apply calamine lotion and  a mild steroid cream.
If the symptoms are severe then please consult a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
