Hand rashes

I have a 13 year old who had a horrible rash that turned into a staff infection all over his hands and fingers.  They had pustules, blisters and rashes it was horrible, i am the mother of 4 sons and never saw anything like it.  the doctor said its eczema.  I have looked at pics of it and i didnt see the familiarity.  Anyway do you have any ideas.  He was taking a shot i kenalog at least once amonth to have it go away but i do not want and neither does his doctor to keep taking steroids.

please help me
