Hard bump above lip where a mustache would be worn if there were one there

Hard bump above lip (where a mustache would be worn if one were there) off to the side about 1 in. form nose, surfaced about two weeks ago. Not a pimple or wart and it is hard with nothing filling it (no fluid). Tried to remove with apple vinegar treatment, then Compound W (thinking it may be a wart on the face); result has been, left a burning sensation & very little removal if at all.  Now what? It is still there on my face above the lip! So ugly!

Hello Doctor  , I have exactly same problem .. just under my nose above my mouth ( where the mustache supposed to be)  Its circular cyst and size of a whole nut. When I press it its slightly painful but not much..  I am just asking can it be a cancer? I am very worried..  I know it is difficult to answer that question , but at least can you tell me what a chance it can be a cancer tumor?? :(

It can be due to a small cyst. They may occur anywhere on body but scalp, ears, back, face, and upper arm, are common sites for sebaceous cysts. Blocked sebaceous glands, swollen hair follicles and excessive testosterone production will cause such cysts.

Generally no treatment is required but they become painful then it means they are infected,Then surgical excision by traditional wide excision, minimal excision, and punch biopsy excision may be required.
