Herpes

My wife gets an occasional white spot under her tongue. Is this herpes? I ask because after oral sex recently I developed some small red spots on myh penis. Doctor said it was just an irritation.

Herpes doesn't appear inside the mouth.  Hard to say what your wife had, but your doctor is undoubtedly correct that what you have is just irritation.

Had unprotected sex thought he had condom told me he didn't but had only vaginal sex nothing at all with the anus that was on thursday by sat. night i felt a little itching in the fold of buttock area not the anus sunday more itching i kind of rub it  by, monday felt bump or two no pain just itch went to DR. thursday she said didn't look like herpes maybe bumps from rubbing to hard gave me a vaginal cream for itch also told me to use cream anitbiotic cream i had the bumps did turn to be blister burst and now have one more  it's very weird is their anything else that could cause this my partner says nothing ever never been wrong with him the only other thing on tuesday i had a shot of cortizone for a heel spur and started taking Vioxx for my foot very worried. DR. asked me if it hurts i said no just itch she said herpes hurt.

Herpes can hurt and/or itch. I had both symptoms when I got it.  The sores can be cultured to find out for sure if it is herpes. I would recsommend getting that test, it's quick and then you'll know for sure and you won't chance passing it on to anyone else.  Good luck.

Coutious on the Feb 11 posting and followed-up by a non-MD now: Herpes does occur in the mouth - which is very common btw -
and yes you can easily transmit it through oral sex and make it genital if you are unlucky. My advise is to look at the many references from the NIH, the merck manual etc. which are all on the web on it.

I have a rash amongst my pubic hair.  It started red and itchy and then changed into small watery blisters.  I find the itch so bad that I bust these blisters and then it makes it worse.  It is in a small spot, about the size of a dime, but the same thing is beginning to happen in another area near the first one.  I have not had a sexual partner in over a year, so I am left very confused.  Could it be a fungus or an STD of some kind?  Can it be serious?  How should I take care of it?

MARK.  When I first started having symtoms (symptoms) of herpes it was the same as what you are describing.  I was having sex with the same person for a year and it didnt show up until after all that time.
sometimes on guys they get small outbreaks and never notice so this may not even be the first one if it is herpes
