Red Scrotum Syndrome is not Skin Atrophy

I've read a lot of people on this forum conflating the two terms. The symptoms of RSS is clearly stipulated online and many case reports have pictures illustrating how the scrotum should look when you have it. Skin atrophy is different. Again, you can read up on the details of skin atrophy online. Feeling like your skin is thin is not the same thing as a skin that's proven to be thin under the microscope. Sensitive skin does not mean your skin is thin. It COULD be a result of thin skin, but not all sensitive skin are thin. Thin skin, or ATROPHIED skin usually splits open and bruise at the slightest provocation. If you have had an elderly grandparent, you would know. Corticosteroids can cause thin skin if used for long periods of time. On the scrotum, it might take be much shorter. What many of you are experiencing is more likely to be RSS, instead of a steroid-induced skin atrophy. Please consult a dermatologist when it happens and make sure you work with them. I've read too many geniuses on here who repeatedly come to conclusions about their conditions without even having a medical degree or the machines to test out their hypotheses.
