Hyperpigmentation on tailbone area

What is the best thing for hyperpigmentation on your tailbone near your buttock?  Should I start with a simple fade cream like Palmers?  One dermatologist told me my tailbone was concaved and that there really was nothing that can be done for it.  Still it looks ugly?  I think something could be done.  Any suggestions?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
The treatment for this hyperpigmenattion depends on the cause, whether it is due to post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, simple darkening of skin due to accumulation of melanin or due to acanthosis nigricans. This darkening can also occur when an excess of melanin, the brown pigment that produces normal skin color, forms deposits in the skin.

Treatment involves hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment. Please discuss these options with your dermatologist before using them.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
