I Have A Small Hole Just Above My Anus

Hi. I recently found a small hole just above my anus and I'm worried that it could be something serious. The hole itself is about 1mm wide and has recently started to weep and bleed a small amount. I've looked on the Internet to see if I can find out what it is and I think it could be a polinodal cyst, but I'm really not sure. Any amount of help will be very, very well taken.
Thanks.

I have had a pilonidal cyst for the last 10 years. It’s exactly as you described. It’s a small hole, that was initially about a millimeter in size, but it has gotten larger over the years. I talked to three surgeons about it, and the opinions varied from doing very invasive surgery to completely open the area up and let it re-heal, to doing a minimally invasive procedure that wasn’t guaranteed to resolve the issue, to doing nothing and living with it. I chose the third option, because I’ve had surgery before, and it’s not always the best solution because while they’re working in there, nerves can be damaged and you can end up with a numb spot or pain in an area. So for the past 10 years I go to extra lengths to make sure that I keep the area clean. Keeping it clean avoids infections, so there’s no pus or bleeding.
Hope it all goes well for you, I’ve never hurts to talk to a surgeon about it and have a professional take a look. It’s always possible that it could be something other than what you think it is. Never hurts to get multiple opinions.

I just want to acknowledge all you brave people and let you all know you are not alone and you are all amazing 2 butthole people. I too have lived the life of a two butthole person and reading these comments has not only put myself at ease, but has really made me smile to know there are others out there like me. We must stick together and remember to pick each other up when we are down. I hope everyone continues their life very well and hopefully your two buttholes wont turn into something crazy. If it does, remember you can always come back here for support.

Wow I have been made fun of bc of this all my life by the few people that Ive told that I have what I say is ;2 butt holes lol. I happened to be in the hospital one time and one night it left blood on my bed so the nurses wanted to know where the blood was coming from so I tell them, so the next thing I know I have all these nurses and drs wanting to see it! I even had someone take a pic! Either way I was told that it could be closed but the Dr probably wouldn;t waist his time unless it really bother me... Im happy to see here that I'm not alone on this one!

Yep, I have had this for quite a few years now. Not sure if I had it as a kid, but when I was 20, I noticed it. The last 2 days, it hurt really bad to where I could barely sit and this morning, I felt the back of my underwear and it was wet. I guess I had a cyst on the inside and it finally burst when I was asleep. Feels soo much better now, but the infection itself, stunk really bad. I put some neosporin on it, to prevent any germs to get in there.
Do you know what this is called. And if it is unhealthy for it to bleed

I have a pilonidal sinus, at the top of my buttcrack (for lack of a better term) theres a small opening that puss comes out of, but then i also have this small hole 1-2 inches above my anus that bleeds. Not too sure if its related to the sinus, because it doesnt irritate or hurt, it just bleeds occasionally.

I'm a male and I also have the pilonidal cyst. I've had it for a long time. Evey once in awhile it hurts and bleeds. Its never caused me any medical problems. Thought I was the only person in the world with this problem. I'm glad to hear I'm not alone. Its very embarassing but its a part of me and I'm ok with that. If it could ccause deathly problems id love to know about it. My email address. ***@****. thanks so much for your time.

Hello,

It sounds like pilonidal cyst. This hole near the base of spine is called pilonidal dimple. It is a small pit or sinus in the sacral area at the very top of the crease between the buttocks.

The majority of pilonidal dimples are harmless, congenital anomalies that consist of a small depression or pit. There may be increased hairiness around the area.
The pilonidal dimple may also be a deep tract, rather than a shallow depression, leading to a sinus that may contain hair. These can become infected and drain. As it is bleeding ,so it has to be examined by a surgeon.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep us posted if you have any additional queries
