Hi

This may be viral in origin. The sexual history may be a factor here. However, we have to consider other causes as well. Parvovirus infection may present with a red rash on the cheeks .However, this is quite a rare presentation in adults and Parvovirus usually affects children. Also, this infection may be associated with joint pains.

The sexual history may be contributory. However, we may not be too sure if this rash is an STD manifestation. A urinalysis may be done as well as blood  tests may be done just to rule out any STD"s but  I would say the results may likely not show anything.

Let us observe how the rash unfolds. If this is viral ,it may likely resolve spontaneously.
