There was no particular reason I thought HIV, My GP stated Folliculitis and I immediately began searcing the web for information after quite a bit of searching a particular post caught my attention and it stated HIV. I am wondering if the post was referring to Folliculitis being one of many symptoms associated with HIV because of the Immune System. In my particular case I started to get a rash and terrible itching on my torso front and back, I have been prescribed a cream and at present the itching and severity of the rash as subsided. The Doxycycline I was prescribed I have discontinued use after only one day as I experienced terrible sore throat and swallowing and chest pains which I think may have been a side effect. I will be visiting my GP hopefully tomorrow for an alternative antibiotic or maybe just use the cream. I am really grateful for your swift post to my question and I would need to add that at present I seem to be going through a stage where any slight pain or excerpt I read I suddenly feel like I also have the symptom or I read that much about a type of illness that I start to think the worst case scenario..
Hi,
I am not sure why you have been prompted to think of HIV as the possible reason for your medical condition.
Is it the lesions on the back or the rash that developed after you took the treatment. HIV is an immune system disorder and therefore there may be many symptoms in an HIV patient which may also be seen in people who are not HIV positive. I do not think there is any reason why one should be concerned unless there are other reasons to suspect HIV.
Please let me know which part of your medical conditions worries you and makes you think of the possibility of HIV and why?
I think this information is critical in helping you in this situation.,
Please also reconsult your doctor and get a fresh prescription for the rash .
Let me know your thoughts
best regards
