Itchy all over

by blueeyes295, Nov 11, 2008 02:36PM
I'm itching all over and it is really driving me crazy.  It has been about a month.  The only noticable bumps I can see are on my upper rear end.  I've had numerous red bumps that look like pimples there.  They went away for a week and then came back.  I am also itching a lot on my head, back, and a little in my groin area.  I've noticed a small bump in my genital area, but it is not a blister.  I went to ob/gyn and she said she didn't see anything.  I was also tested for herpes about 4 1/2 months after any possible exposure.  The doctor said the result was .03 and said that was negative.  I've checked for lice, and haven't seen anything.  My youngest son was just diagnosed with hand, foot, and mouth disease but his blister healed after about 5 days.  I am also experiencing pain in my neck under my jaw bone.  I don't feel any swollen lymph nodes, but my neck will feel like it is pulsating in that area.  I have also been tested for HIV at 7 1/2 months past possible exposure...so I don't think I should be worried about that.  I went to the emergency room last week because it got so bad .  I have made an appt with a dermatologist, but took 3 weeks to get an appt.  The emergency room doctor told me it was probably winter itch or stress.  He gave me some pills and they actually stopped the itching...but 3 days after I stop talking them I was itching like crazy again.  I also feel like I have some thing crawling in my eye.   I will mention one thing.. Before all this started I noticed about 6 red dots under the skin on my chest on stomach.  They didn't itch, but I went to the doctor and they told me it was hemangiomas.  I am hoping someone can help because I'm going to itch myself into the crazy house.

Hi,

This could be allergic reactions to unknown substances, skin hypersensitivity, eczema, dermatitis or insect/bug bites.

What is your age? Could you describe the rash a little?

Do you notice the lesions trigerred in response to a specific stimulus like sun exposure, some substance related to your work place?

You should try to keep the area dry and clean. Try some powder to absorb the sweat.

Apply calamine lotion at the site and take some oral antihistamine medications like loratadine or cetrizine for your complaints. You should wash all your linen and bed clothing once in an antibacterial solution and sun dry it.

Those red spots could be chery angiomas.

If the symptoms are still persistent, consult your dermatologist and get a proper clinical evaluation done.

Let us know if you have any doubts and keep us posted on how you are doing.

Good luck.
