Jock itch or herpes???

Hello
Like three days ago I went to the gym and ran on the treadmill for a good 20 min at  an incline, then later I went to shower and starting washing on the inner left thigh in between the scrotum and thigh.  I noticed like 6 or 7 open sores that kind of burned as I washed them. The sores seemed to be on top of some stretch marks i have between the groin and scrotum.  I dried the groin area with my towel and they burned a little not at an extreme level though.  I would walk and the sores wouldn't hurt but it didn't feel a little uncomfortable.  I wanted to go to the doctor to go get them checked out but after three days having them they went away and left the skin a little flaky.  I haven't had sex since the first of June!  Can this be herpes or jock itch???

Could the first outbreak of herpes take 5 months after sexual exposure?

I didn't have unprotected sex and the last time I did was on the first of June.  I may have inserted my penis without the condom once but I pulled it out immediately and put the condom on.  The sores happened after I was doing some step ups working out, my thighs are fairly big. This was the second week of November. Could the friction be the cause of the open sores?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It looks like a boil or a cyst. But if you have had unprotected intercourse then it can be due to herpes sore. You should keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics and warm compresses. Also use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then get an evaluation done from a dermatologist and get cysts and herpes sores ruled out.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing
