I have a similar problem - but it's an external yeast infection of the vagina, meaning I have no internal symptoms like a discharge or any kind of odor. I've seen my doctor before for it and was told it was an external yeast infection and had it treated. I've had it now since my boyfriend and I moved in together, on and off, but I was pregnant at the time, too, so I figured it was the changes in my body. My daughter is 10 months old now and it's never gone away 100%. I've tried the creams, inserts, diflucan, everything. I was wondering if it might be because he'll use my towel after the shower, not tell me, and then I'll use it later. Is this a possibility?
Hello,
Pityriasis versicolor (Tinea veriscolor) is a fungal infection caused by commensal yeasts in hot and humid conditions. It is caused by a fungus that lives in the skin of almost all adults. Factors that can cause the fungus to become more visible include high humidity and immune or hormone abnormalities.
It does not cause the spread of yeast or fungal infection as the fungus causing tinea versicolor is a commensal of the skin.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
