Large brown spots on my back

I have large brown rashes on my back since more than one and half year. It started in February 2009 as little spots and after consulting dermatologist, it fadeout.
Now, in this summer, I had the same issue in addition with itching and also appears on my both legs and itching was causing blooding. Dermatologist prescribed me Nerisone creme for legs and it helped.
He also prescribed me Stieve A cream 0.05% but intensity of spots on back increased. He gave me Mylan Minocyclime 100 MG ( 30 capsules), though now back is covered like a big marble type patches and more darker. He said it may be yeast and gave me APO- Ketoconazole 200 MG (7 days). Nothing helped. Can you please help me? I am 22 years Male and doing workout (which makes me sweaty) and also taking whey protein as supplements.

Hello,
This does not seem to be related to sweating but can be due to hormonal imbalance. Let us see what the biopsy reports come and then the treatment can be planned accordingly.

I hope this helps. Take care and regards.

Many thanks doctor. I visited dermatologis and they picked up skin sample for the biopsy. The results will come within 2-3 weeks and mean while she has prescribed an ointment Retin A Desonide CR Hydroquinone 5% to apply on affected area alternatively with calamine lotion. Once the report will come the further diagnosis will occur and I will keep you informed.

Also, one more question: Do you think this is due to any hormonal changes? Or do you think that sweating (During weight lifting) make it worst?

Regards

Hello,
One possibility for your symptoms is of neuralgia parasthetica. It also presents as itchy, dark pigmented patch seen one the back or trunk. Sensation to light touch, temperature, vibration, and two-point discrimination may be normal or abnormal.

Biopsy skin can help in confirming the diagnosis. Also if there are any other systemic symptoms, then systemic diseases like scleroderma and SLE have to be ruled out. For that you need to consult your dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
