Irritation

Ok this has been a semi constant thing now since the first week in August... so a little over 3 months...

I think some of my symptoms were actually caused by some of the creams the doc gave me....

My story:

They have never run a test for herpes(i was scared), everytime they looked (even under a magnifying glass) they said it didnt look like it but this has lasted (on and off sortof) for a little over 3 months...

4 different people have looked at it at the free clinic...

It started with like sunburnt-like peeling under the penis shaft aswell as below the head (i'm circumsized). I let it go for a week (thinking it was somekind of friction) and it got sore and itchy.

I recently had started having unprotected sex with my girlfriend... who it turns out had a very bad yeast infection... She took 3 day monistat thing and her stuff all cleared up fine.

I went to the clinic the first time and they looked at it real quick and gave me Miconozole 2%. That seemed to sortof help... overnight though my head of my penis became red and irritated so i went back and they really didnt give me an answer they said to keep using it...

It never fully went away after 2 weeks of cream almost seemed to get worse...

Slowly this stuff came back(a week) although it was really bad under the shaft so i went back. It was oozing something yellowish so they put me on Antibiotics(Keflex) and an Antifungle(Started with a T)... Antibiotics were for a week and antifungal for 2 weeks... The stuff on the underside of the shaft cleared up almost immdiatly(3 days max) but after i got off the antibiotics and was just on antifungal the head of my penis became red and irritated like on the miconozole 2%... But i took the antifungals until they were gone and everything slowly seemed to be resolving.

2 days after i stoped using the antifungal pills another rash on the underside appeard but it was higher up twords the head instead of at the base (like the previous 2 times...).. aswell as the same type of stuff under the head(its like a ring in the deepest part of the skin folds when unerect between the bottom of the head and circumcision scar)... The stuff on the underside of the shaft cleared up within 3 1/2 days...

Also upon closer examination the skin between the head and the circumcision line seems to have like tiny vains all over.. Not like the ones that carry blood in your body but like tiny red threadlike vains everywhere... looks like spiderweb almost and it causes the area to be more red then i remember before all this...

It seems like masturbation cause this too be worse so i've stopped masturbating (4-5 weeks ago)... The doc gave me Hydrocortizone 2.5% when i went back again and it didnt really make much difference i used it for 3 weeks and nothings all that better...

After i stopped with creams and stuff i just started using plain petroleum jelly and the head of my penis over a weeks time went from red back to normal fleshy color. I also (i know it sounds silly but the pain from rubbing was unbarable) made sortof a penis bandage (every day) that made sure the skin under the head was never directly exposed to my pants. The stuff under the head became less pronounced and all in all it looks one hell of alot better. Which is why i think it was never a fungal thing in the first place because if u put a bandage on it and cover it up it would be moist and dark and fungus should spread but it got better.

The bandage thing got really annoying (after 2 weeks) so i discontinued using it. The problem is it still HURTS when my underwear rubs on the skin underneath my head (i wear loose fitting cotton boxers) and it seems like if it rubs an extensive period of time without rest(when working) the area becomes red and inflamed again...

It doesn't itch much its dry though and just hurts like a razor blade is dragging across my penis when the part of the shaft (under the head) catches the inseam of my boxers.

Should it still be this sensitive?

Will this ever fully go away?

Is there anything i can do to speed this up?

Its been like 3 months+ so i'm sure its not herpes (shes never had signs of herpes either, just the yeast problems in late july when all this started...) Also there was never any blisters to my knowledge just painful red irritated areas with spiderweb-like vains everywhere in sore areas...

Also shes not having any issues...

Thank you for your response... i am going to stop using all products to see if it revolves on its own... It never oozed originally it was only after the antifungal cream was applied so i would assume antifungal cream cause a yeast imbalance on my skin and i gave myself a fungal infection that i didnt have... Its also only red now after an erection or being rubbed in that area... if its left alone its normal color as is the rest of the skin... but it always hurts to touch...

Also i noticed the pain seems to be isolated over 3 (very prominent) veins that (upon looking at pictures taken about a year ago) were definitely not as noticeable before.

Even when the redness is not there the area seems to hurt when rubbed on cloths.

I do where cotton underwear already.

But ill take you suggestions and try them and see were it gets me... 3 months is just too long ill try just about anything...

BTW i looked at pictures for Intertrigo and it didnt look like what i had... Now overall mines i guess less of a rash, more like tiny threadlike series of veins that appear in areas were the skin is tender and they are more noticeable during erections....

Hello,
Two possibilities are coming to my mind. First possibility is of chaffing or rash due to friction rub with clothes. Second possibility is of intertrigo. Intertrigo most commonly occurs due to bacterial, viral or fungal infection. An intertrigo usually appears red and raw-looking, and may also itch, ooze, and be sore.
Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. Also wear cotton undergarments. Application of mild corticosteroid cream and oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen/acetaminophen are also helpful. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a dermatologist and get a biopsy skin done.
I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
