Hello,
Last year in May I had a serious accident involving coma and learning to walk/talk again as well as many other things. My hospital stay was almost 6 months. Although now I have gotten much better, I still have problems with speech and with fine movements, but that all seems to be getting better slowly, but surely. My problem is: I have had (after doing research) what seems to be "angular cheilitis" or "perleche" for 3+ months. I have been to a doctor three times and gotten different creams for a yeast infection and used it every day until it was gone but it didn't get any better. Also have used OTC yeast and anti fungal creams. There was one period I got a full body rash, (hives, acute urticaria) that went off and on for a few days, I went to different doctors and they said that the real cause of hives is unknown and gave me an antihistamine I think it was, to get better. They went away and didn't come back. On the subject of the perleche, I even completely changed my diet to no sugar/yeast/wheat/or gluten and have tried vitamins of all sorts. (Taken B complex and iron after reading that may be the cause plus many other immune boosting supplements). I have also tried natural remedies such as tea tree oil, coconut oil, antibacterial dish soap, raw garlic etc. and it hasn't improved. Every time I think it is healing *crack* it opens again. It is very painful when eating or opening my mouth sometimes. It is so frustrating, and annoying... can anyone help or suggest anything? I don't have health insurance or money for doctors right now so I can't keep going, and getting more creams that don't work and getting no real answers. I am an American living in Europe and I don't have coverage here. Is this a sign of some underlying illness? STD or something? If it were a sign of HIV/AIDS I think that I would be experiencing other symptoms but I am rarely tired and have a major appetite. It seems so very little but to always have a cracked bleeding big sore on your mouth really affects your confidence and the way people look at you, plus it is worrisome... I had a rash on my inner thigh as well, and went to a doctor and he said it was fungal, and the cream I got worked, although it took a long time. Nothing seems to help with this. Why would I be getting fungal infections anyway? Someone please help, this is very bad and worrisome, and it has been going on for months and the doctors and creams and diet doesn't seem to work...
Thank you very much
A
