cold sore or pimple?

I'm pretty paranoid at this point... I'm healthy 25 year old male who has a small pimple around the middle of the mouth by the lip. I checked every available website regarding cold sore symptoms and pictures and my pimple does not look like any of them. It's just right on the lip line so its pretty visible. It started on monday night and it came to a small head so I popped it. By tuesday it was healing but still red. Today is wednesday and it looks like its still healing, though not as red as before. it looks like a pimple but i really want to make sure that it is.... i've never had a cold sores before. I've gotten pimples around my lip area but i can't remember if i ever had it right on the top lip line. I do not have any of the symptoms such as pain, fever, blisters. I did have a tingling sensation on monday (prodrome) before i got this.. i'm extremely worried and need of an advice if i should go see a doctor or not. Thank you!!

(by the way i usually have chapped lips during winter so disregard them.. plus i have been suffering with acne for a long time)

thank you for your response. I've posted on the dermatology expert forum also and dr. rockoff tells me the same thing. I'm very relieved at this point but still cringing at the sight of this unwanted pimple. I will keep posted and put up pics once it is healed. have a good day and i appreciate the response again.

Hi,

This is a pimple or acne.

There are several treatment options available for acne - topical application creams, oral medications, laser treatment etc.

It would be best to consult your dermatologist to decide about the best treatment option in your case.

This should heal spontaneously in a few days.
