Pain and redness followed by flaky dry skin on penis after masturbation

Hi,
I have never had sex or oral sex but when I masturbate without cleaning the tip of my penis after, my penis becomes much more red, sensitive, and painful the next day. The day after the redness/pain, my penis skin starts to dry up and is still slightly painful. This happened before, but the pain was less intense and the dry skin was able to be taken off easily with water.  However, now I have had dry skin all over my penis for four days, and the skin is also flaky. When I stretched some of the dry skin, the skin cracked, but there was no blood, and when I took a shower, soap got into the cut and made it sting. It continues to be sensitive from rubbing against my clothing. Is this serious?
Thanks,
Danny

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but this swelling can be due to friction rub or chafing. Chafing is a continuous rubbing of the skin that causes redness or soreness.

Chafing occurs when the skin becomes irritated by the friction caused by rubbing – either against other skin or against a foreign material. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. Also wear cotton undergarments. Application of mild corticosteroid cream and oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen/acetaminophen are also helpful. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a doctor.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
