Painless penis rash

It started when I scratched a part of the bottom to mid part my penis head laying in bed one night in the winter season about 5 months ago or so, and I was having dry skin problems to begin with in the first place from the wintery season. ((i also had a habit of not washing my clothes last semester))

There were two major scratch sections when I did itch that night. One healed up and went away over a few weeks. The other doesn't seem to be doing that though. For the last 3-5 months ((ever since i scratched it in the wintery season)) it's been red and scaley and even seems to be spread very slowly ((but I don't know if it's the aveena moisturizer protectant that could be worsening it)).

There are times when if I don't masturbate, don't shower for a few days, and lubricate it a little, then the rash seems completely gone. But when I take a hot shower it gets red and scaley an hour or two afterwards. When I don't lubricate it, it becomes red and scaley. When I masturbate it seems to anger it.

There is no pain. When I touch it and then touch other parts of my body it doesn't spread, so I doubt it's an STD((besides, I can donate blood)).

Any ideas what's going on? and how I can get rid of it?

Thanks. I'm leaning toward it being a fungal thing.

Doesn't hurt. Doesn't itch. Doesn't feel anything really. Just gets dry, and scaly as skin wants to come off if I let it go too long without lubricant. Gah.

I was not sexually active when it happened, and was only once in the past year with a girl who tested clean from STD's. The only new thing my penis comes into contact with is aveeno moisturizer, and maybe some fungus from dirty underwear 4-5 months ago?

I mean, honestly, when it's lubricated it doesn't look bad, just a little red. It then dries up and becomes scaly, dry and nappy looking. The spread is slow, but I don't like it. It seems to mostly be around the base ring of my penis head now.

Is there anything I can pick up from the local wal-mart/wal-greens/store that is anti-fungal? what would be something good to pick up?

Hi,
It could be an allergic inflammation of the penile skin or it could be due to a fungal infection.
Allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) results when repeated exposure to an allergen (an allergy-causing substance) triggers an immune response that inflames the skin. Tens of thousands of drugs, pesticides, cosmetics etc. It maybe the moisturizer you are using. You could stop applying it and see if it helps in causing the rash to subside.
TRY applying a soothing oil like eucalyptus which will also take care of dry skin. Also try OTC anti-histamines to relieve the itching.
If these measures don't work, then you could apply anti-fungal medications as ointments on the affected areas.

I forgot to mention the word 'dry' in my post above. It gets dry, and scaley, which is what produces the redness, I guess..??
