Penis Rash W White Spots

I am a 39 year old male in good health married for 18 years, never cheat, and I get this rash on my penis around my foreskin and on the head of my penis. I usually occurs once or twice a year and it is always following sex. It most often occurs during the hot summer months when I sweat a lot. It varies in appearance but is always red and itchy accompanied by flaky  skin and sometimes white flat painfull small spots. last year i treated it with cortizone antifungal cream and neosporin cream, it helped with the itching but not the pain and appearance in fact it got so swolen and painfull it ruined my vacation. This rash lasted about a month and affected my sex life in addition to the pain and itching. I got it again now and it has many more white spots, I dont want it to last a month again. I thought it was a yeast infection but my wife got checked out and she didnt have one. one thing I will mention is when i am not erect the head of my penis is always covered by my foreskin, i think i was circumsized, did they do a bad job? any help would be appreciated, I just want my sex life back, I have enough to worry about without a itchy painfull ****.

Hi,
Usually thge most common causes for balanitis would be fungal or allergy.Balanitis is a term used to include all inflammation of the skin covering the head (glans) of the penis.
The most common causes are:
-irritants: neglected hygiene may  lead to irritation by smegma (a cheesy substance secreted under the foreskin).
-seborrhoeic dermatitis: an inflammatory rash of uncertain cause that is commonly seen on the scalp, behind the ears and in the skin folds.
-thrush (candida): although this infection is probably over-diagnosed by doctor and patient.
-contact allergy: latex and additives used in rubber manufacture (eg condoms) and constituents of skincare products (used by the patient or partner).
The treatment would really depend on the actual cause. In your case it might be a case of seboorhoeic dermatitis, you need to treat it with shampoos containing  selenium sulfide, or zinc pyrithione, which can be aplied on the skin.Or just a plain Corticosteroid ointment in case it is a case of contact dermatitis.
