Penis and other areas

I am 33, and have had the same partner for the past 5 years.

About 2 years ago the head of my penis began itching.  I visited the doctor and he suggested it was a yeast infection.  After the use the problem seemed to go away.  Since then things have gotten worse and I have visited the doctor numberous times as well as a dermatologist.  Overall, the treatment has not resolved the problem.  The problem with my skin continues to get worse.  My forskin is very tight and shinny if I pull back (it is painful to pull the forskin back all of the way, and the skin can crack).  The head of my penis is always read and blotchy.  The skin, in the interesection between the inside of my leg and my genitals is red and raw. And even after I wash thouroughly it has an odur.

In the past month the skin around my eyes has become very dry and flaky, as well as the skin behind my ears.

I'm not sure if this is related but I have itching rash behind my knees (the dermatologisted prescribed Ratio-Ectosone crm 0.1% Betamethasone 0.1% cream), but it will not go away.

I think I must have an infection or something of my skin that is picking on sensative areas.  I have seen doctors abot this but have had very little, if any help.

I intend of revisiting a physician, but would like to be a little more educated so that I can ask the right questions and get help.

Thank you,
M

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
From the symptoms, various possibilities are there. These include contact dermatitis, rash due to friction rub with clothes, dermatitis (atopic, contact, allergic),excessive sweating causing sweat dermatitis or balanitis(due to an underlying infection (bacterial and fungal as well as other organisms) .

You may try calamine lotion on the rash. You should also maintain hygiene and try to keep the area clean and dry, wear loose-fitting cotton clothing. Also use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. You can also use a barrier cream with zinc oxide paste or calamine lotion or a mild steroid cream like dermacort on the rash.

For the rash on the ears, seborrheic dermatitis needs to be evaluated. It causes flaky, dry, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas esp under the nose or anywhere on face. please get an evaluation from a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Hi there,
I've heard of this a lot and most men seem to find some relief from steroid creams, Nystatin being one of these. Most believe that the rash with it's "shiny" appearance and itching is a bacterial or fungal infection that can spread to other parts of the body, particularly when the skin's pH is unbalanced and sensitive.
You could also try pure Coconut oil which has given some men relief.

All the best.
