Penis discolouration and itching

Hi
Surfferning from itching around the base of the penis, onto underside of scrotum and slight stinging at the head.

also dark red discolouration under foreskin at the head of the penis, in two patches.

Any ideas??

Not had this problem before, probably been around about a week.
Had a very slight pain urinating since having surgery a week ago (had apendix removed). this pain only comes when finishing off urinating.
Itching is mild and only aggravates me sometimes.

For how long have you experienced this?

Do your symptoms come and go or are they present all the time?

Differentials for red and itchy patches in the groin area will be a fungal or yeast infection and a dermatitis.Contact and allergic dermatitis may be the more common differentials.

I suggest that you have this checked by your primary physician.Fungal infections and dermatitis may be readily treated with corticosteroids.If left untreated this may persist and may cause further itchiness which may irritate and injure the skin.

At this point, wash your genitals with a mild and bland soap.Keep the area dry always.Wear loose underpants made of cotton.Avoid using tight and synthetic underpants as this may aggravate your condition.

Do you have any problems with urination?
