Penis skin sore

Hi Doctor, I have noticed a small 1/4 inch- 3/8 inch round flat bright red sore on my penis just below the head . My regular doctor and I have ruled out possible STD and warts. He said he has seen lots of warts and this is not a wart.
He prescribed  Gentamicin 0.1%  four times a day  and said it will go away.  It has not, and it has been with me 3-4 weeks.   Is this contagious and infectious ? It does not itch or is sore in any way .  Looking for help  P

Dr Rockoff I just wanted to add to my question I have some pics  in my profile and also to mention that the sore is slightly raised. Enough that it looks to be more than a irritation.  Would a stronger prescription help - say hydrocortisone or stronger?
Also is this contagious or infectious??

I think you've already gotten the help you need, Peter.  This is probably irritation, and it will go away best if you do nothing and leave it alone.  It does not sound anything like a wart or STD, and you've already seen a doctor who told you so.  If you need more reassurance, I recommend that you see a skin doctor in a few weeks if the mark hasn't gone away.

Best.
