Dry skin on/under penis head

My girlfriend and I have been having sex for a couple months now. She is on birthcontrol, and so we do not use condoms. I am her first to have unprotected sex fwith so I am almost positive this issue does not involve STDs in any way. A few days after having sex, I seem to develop dry, sometimes irritated skin around the head of my penis and the top of the shaft below the head. Sometimes small red dots appear. I have been using hydrocortizone every so often, and the symptoms usually disappear until the next time we engage in sex.

Thank you for the post. I will invest in some mild body wash. I looked up calamine lotion and i can get that, but the rash isn't itchy or painful in anyway. The dryness occurs, but other than that, I dont find it affecting me in any painful way, or through itchyness. I had read an article with someone having a similar problem and it was posted that it could be due to the ph level of the birth control. I'm not sure if this is true, I just wanted to see your thoughts about it.

Hello,

Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it can be contact dermatitis, rash due to friction rub with clothes, dermatitis (atopic, contact, allergic),excessive sweating causing sweat dermatitis or eczema.
You may try calamine lotion on the rash. You should also maintain hygiene and try to keep the area clean and dry, wear loose-fitting cotton clothing. Also use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove.Avoid any kind of cosmetics. You can also use calamine lotion or a mild steroid cream like dermacort on the rash. If the bumps are itchy, you  can take some antihistaminic like benadryl or Claritin. Also keep the area well moisturized.

If the symptoms persist then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Warm regards.
