Hi,
Rash on the groin is usually due to a common fungal infection called Tinea cruris. IT produces rash that may appear red, tan, or brown, with flaking, rippling, peeling, or cracking skin.

There is a itching or a burning sensation in the groin area, thigh skin folds extending even into the perineal areas and anus. The border may exhibit tiny pimples or even pustules, with central areas that are reddish and dry with small scales.

Fungi thrive in  warm, damp environment s, so the rash is commonly seen in sweaty skin folds especially in hot and humid weather. Treatment is with  antifungal creams containing tolnaftate, clotrimazole or miconazole, to be applied on the affected areas.
This can be done twice a day for a week to ten days till the rash subsides. Glucocorticoid steroids may be combined with the anti-fungal drug to prevent excessive discomfort caused by skin inflammation.

Recurrence is common, therefore you must take certain neasures to prevent it. To cure the infection naturally, keep moist and warm areas of the body clean and dry by using powder. You can use anti-dandruff shampoos on the infected skin as many contain anti-fungal chemical compounds such as pyrithione zinc, selenium sulfide, and ketoconazole (Nizoral). Tea tree oil can also be used since it is a natural anti-fungal.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi

It seems that the image is not available yet.

Red rash in the groin area usually has fungal infections or  jock itch as differential. Jock itch usually presents as a red rash with well demarcated borders. There may be mild scaling and itching in the area. I suggest that you wash the affected skin with a mild cleanser such as Cetaphil. Apply 1% hydrocortisone over the area and see if the skin improves after two days. Apply the corticosteroid cream thinly. See if the redness subsides. If scaling is also noted, you may have the scales microscopically evaluated to ascertain the presence of a fungal infection.

May I ask if there is a significant sexual history associated with this?
