Rash on breasts and in belly button

I have a red rash in my belly button and on both breast but it is localized to the aereolas only, it does not extend out. My breasts do not itch at all, my belly button does midly from time to time. Not even bad enough that I want to scartch it. I had the same rash this winter, but just on the aereolas at that time, not belly button. No discharge at all. Any ideas??

Thank you for the reply. I forgot to note in my original post that I have had the rash for over a week, now getting close to two weeks. When I had it this winter, just on my aereolas, it lasted three weeks. I went to the Dr. for it this winter and they were stumped and thought it was possibly a yeast infection and I was given a cream. It did not help. Seems odd as it was and is now only on the aereolas and does not spread out any further. As far as my belly button goes, it is on the inside and only extends out about 1/4" from the opening. I thought allergic reation as well as I grew up with allergies but this is the weirdest and longest rash I have ever had.

Hi,
This could be due to an allergic reaction or it could be eczema. An allergy rash is an exaggerated immune response or reaction to substances that are generally not harmful.
Allergy is caused by an oversensitive immune system, which leads to a misdirected immune response. The immune system normally protects the body against harmful substances, such as bacteria and viruses.

It reacts to substances (allergens) that are generally harmless. In your case it could be due to perfumes, detergents in the clothes or could be the material of the fabric itself, if it is rough.

Paget's disease of the breast also presents with a rash but it is usually one-sided. I would go with an allergic reaction in your case. Treatment is with anti-histamines like Cetrizine. Dry ski8n in winter can cause/aggravate the itching, so keep the area well moisturized.
