Rash? on thighs and penis

A month ago I noticed small pimples on my pubic area.  After 2 visits to the dr, he said it was molluscum (I was in a monogomous relationship at the time and she showed no signs).  I started putting retin-a on it after reading that "might" help.  About a week later I was on an airplane traveling for 7 hours.  Later that night, my problem seemed to worsen.  Now I had a rash-like appearence on my thighs as well as in my pubic area (on my thighs it is pretty much where my scotum touches).  This red rash hurt and itched real bad as I had to stand and walk alot for 3 day straight.

I did some research and thought maybe it was jock itch (I do sweat alot) even though there are no distinct lines where the rash ends, in fact it almost slowly goes away a few inches down my thighs with a few pimple like spots (these pimples are not raised though, just red spots)  My skin is cracking and peeling pretty bad down there.

I just bought some jock itch powder spray and have been applying it religiously for the past 2 days to the WHOLE area.  The redness has seemed to go down a bit but still itches.

And my penis still itches and has a rash or sore on it along with my scrotum.

Now it almost looks like there is a white puss right below the head of my penis (where it is also red and looks and feels raw).

Any ideas to fix me up again to normal???  Thanks a bunch!

I had/have what sounds to be the same thing. I ended up applying some spectazole (econazole nitrate 1%) cream on the area for about 4 or 5 days and it went away. But I still am having a area on my penis that seems crack or peel. I notice it more after sex with my girlfriend. I have been using a condom and it seems to make the condition worst.

I am a little worried it could be yeast related as she had some itching in there genital area around the time I got this rash. She treated it with a over the counter yeast product. This all started after swimming in a friends pool.

Clotrimazole is in the fungus/jock itch section of the pharmacy.  If you can see the doctor next week, I'd stick with the hydrocortisone alone till you get to see him or her.

Thanks. . .

One more thing, I am not even sure his diagnoses of molluscum was correct in the first place.

Before getting you response, I bought some 1% hydrocortisone (after reading your other responses to other people).  I applied and it burned real bad for a few minutes where it touched the red sores on my penis.

I won't be able to get an appointment with the doc until next week so should I continue this hydrocortisone or move to clotrimazole?

By the way, what is clotrimazole so I know where to find it at the store?

Also, should I stop with the jock itch spray as well?

Thanks again!

I can't see any connection between your millosca and the rest of your problems.

Your condition seems to be mainly one of irritation, either from chafing, yeast, or fungus.  I suggest you try an over-the-counter cream like clotrimazole 1%, which will help yeast and fungus, as well as an absorbent powder for irritation.  Wear loose-fitting underwear.

And as soon as you can set up an appointment, show the doctor who diagnosed and treated the molluscum.

Best.
