Weird post mud run rash?

After a mud run this past weekend in Ormond Beach FL, I noticed a weird rash that almost looks like ant bites.  Thought maybe stinging nettles or something, but the bites don't look like welts.  They are irritating and uncomfortable, but I can't say they really itch or burn-more just they are tender.  Benadryl and Zyrtec seem to do nothing.  I'm allergic to dust so I usually take the Zyrtec anyway, used Benadryl spray.  Nothing seems to help and they just look more inflamed.

Tea tree oil has antiseptic properties, glad it helped you.
Thanks for letting us know that things have now settled.

Best wishes.

Thanks for the help, I did put tea tree oil on them and they were gone inside a week.  I thought bugs at first, but we were crawling through all kinds of mud, water and who knows what kind of weeds too.

Thanks so much, I put tea tree oil on them after cleaning them off and they were gone in a few days.  2 that looked the worst were ant bites I believe, but they were healed in about a week.

The stops are inflamed and have a pustule in the centre which indicates some sort of infection.

I suggest you see your doctor for either an oral antibiotic or an antibiotic cream.

Before you manage to see your doctor, keep the area clean and apply some antiseptic cream.

Personally I wouldn't use cortisone cream on a rash unless prescribed by a doctor because these creams thin the skin.

Best wishes.

Hi and welcome,. Im not a doctor but have been around and also live in florida. There is a puss infection in the middle of the red and i cant imagine that many bug bites without you seeing something. Looks more like a rash or plant poison reaction. If you ran through any grass or such and got pricked they could get infected. Maybe try some 1%cortizone cream with also.
