Vaginal Itching & around Thigh Area

Ok, it's been almost a month and I've had this itching that's been bothering me. It's external and along my thighs, not an STD since I've not been sexually active in over 2 yrs. It started mild but it's gotten a little worse and is very irritating.

My mom says it could be a yest infection but there hasn't been any discharge of any type and also no odors of any kind. There are also no red bumps or any other types of bumps, other then the marks where I accidentally scratched it before I knew it was worse then usual. I've had itching down there in the past but it's only lasted a day or two then gone away. This is the longest it's lasted and doesn't seem to be going away.

I have had the same problem.  So far it has gone away but if I sweat too much I  noticed tiny bumps on one side of my vagina.  I ran  to the doctor.  Anyway she said it was not an STD but she gave me a cortisone cream and a prescription for powder.  My take on this is every time it gets warm I sweat more since I have hypothyroidism.  Also I have large upper thighs that rub together.  I have been exercising every single day to try to lose weight and I believe that my weight has a lot to do with this problem.  So I am taking matters into my own hands and do my best to stay dry down, exercise and lose weight.  It’s so annoying.  I know exactly how you feel.

Well the white powdery discharge was appearing before the cream, really mildly.

Though the white/sticky discharge appeared after using the cream. Nothing cottage cheese like, it's doesn't really have that texture to it.Wasn't sure if this was a bad side effect or not, though it had helped the itching....

Hello,
This white powdery discharge can be due to the cream. However if you notice any cottage cheese like discharge from your vagina, then the possibility of candidiasis has to be ruled out. Candidiasis is caused by the overgrowth of yeast-like fungi called Candida. Candida inhabits the vagina, mouth and digestive tract in small number and are normally harmless. When the balance of naturally occurring organisms in the vagina is disrupted an overgrowth of Candida can occur. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

*Ok I just wanted to update this to say that I have been using the Cortisone cream for 2 days now and it really helped with the itching, but now I have with white/sticky kinda discharge that appearing. Is this possibly a result of the cream or something else? It's only appeared since I've been using the cream......

Well I've been using this itch relief cream that's got hydrocortazone in it. It's suppose to help soothe itching though it's not really doing much to help. I probably should try one of the others and I just started on the benadryl.

My mom told me at first that it could just be a yeast infection and I tried the 3 day treatment but the itching didn't go away after that. The pharmacist had said that it wouldn't hurt if it wasn't the problem so we just tried it anyways.

Though I have noticed a white almost powder like substance that's on the outer sides of my vagina. I'm not sure what it is, usually it's just really faint and kinda in the creases? There's only more there whenever I wake up in the morning since I've been sleeping and probably laying there for so long. I'm not sure what it is or if it could be a part of the dermatitis or fungal things....

See a doctor because that sounds like a fungal infection.  You need antibiotics otherwise it will not go away.

Hello,
Vaginal itching and itching around the thighs can be due to contact dermatitis to the material of the undergarments, feminine products or your soap or detergent ,vaginitis(inflammation of the vagina) or fungal infection.
Please keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical zinc oxide cream and calamine lotion are also helpful. Application of mild steroid cream like dermacort also helps. For the itching please take some over the counter antihistaminic like benadryl or Claritin. In case the symptoms persist then antifungals may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case.
I sincerely hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
