Red rough rash on face after using moisturizer?

Red rough rash on face after using moisturizer?

I get dry skin in the winter and usually do not have trouble using moisturizer for this problem (I usually do not use it on my face).  At the end of last week I used some on my face (approx 8-10 times) and I started breaking out with a red, rough, burning rash over the weekend and it seems to be getting worse this week.  How can I get rid of this?  I am going on vacation next week and I am really wanting to get rid of it by then.   Thank you very much and have a good day.

You can use cotton swabs and rubbing achol on your face and it should clear in a few days,or maybe use like a clearasil ultra scrub

Hi,

Are there other symptoms present? At this point, try to refrain from using the moisturizer on your face. This could be a kind of dermatitis brought about by the moisturizer. Strong corticosteroid creams applied to the face and some types of makeup, moisturizers, and dental products may be responsible. Wash your face regularly. If it persists, have this evaluated by your dermatologist for proper diagnosis. Direct clinical examination is important. Antibiotic treatment may also be indicated. Take care and keep us posted.

There were no other symtoms (symptoms) present, just the rash.  I stopped using the moisturizer and started washing my face with just cool water and very little soap.  I also started putting Cortaid on the affected area, this seemed to help (should I stop using this?).  The rash started going away under my eyes (the roughness and redness has started to diminish), I still have it on my nose and my eyebrow line, but it seems to be going away.  The burning is less than what it was and it started to itch a little (I have tryed not to itch it).  I could not get into see a dermatologist and was debating on whether to go to my doctor.  Should I go or does it sound like it is starting to heal?  The biggest thing I am worried about now is scuba diving while on vacation, I am afraid the goggles will cause it to flare up again.
