Redness in face along law bone

Redness in face along law bone

I am 20 years old and have had enough with the redness on my face. When I was younger, and played sports, when I would start to get tired or say after/during a basketball game my face would get really red. I understand this isn't uncommon so I didn't worry about it.

I used to be extremely tan in high school, but I did notice my face was still different colors. What I mean by different colors is that it was very white in the middle of my cheek while around it it was very tan.

Now, I am no longer tan and I have constant redness in my cheeks. HOWEVER, through research of photos I DON'T have redness typical of Rosacea. It is only along my jaw bone, extending from the front of my jaw back to my ear.  I currently don't have insurance or I would just go see a doctor.

I am extremely concerned that this could be something relating to a respitory disorder. I had gynecomastia but had it removed 6 months ago, and it is already returning. I used to smoke for about two years but to not anymore. With these two symptoms, plus having bronchitus (bronchitis) a year ago, I am worried this could be lung cancer. It seems far fetched but these are two big red flags.

Any help would be appreciated. Again, the constant redness is along my jaw bone, on both sides of my face, with an almost pale white in the middle of my cheek. Thank you.

Hello,
From the symptoms it is important to rule out the possibility of rosacea. Bronchitis won’t have such an effect on the jaw bone. Rosacea is a cutaneous disorder of the central part of the face such as forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. Pimples are sometimes included as part of the definition. Treatment options vary from antibiotic creams, antihistaminics, sun screens to laser treatment. A dermatologist’s evaluation will be the best to confirm the diagnosis.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
