Ringworm not going away

I was diagnosed with ringworm 2 months ago. There's only one outbreak on the back of my leg, and it's not spreading, but the healing is very slow.
I've been on Nystatin prescription cream all this time & it's barely changed. Has anyone tried Melaleuca (tea tree oil) either alone or with Nystatin? Or anyone know if it's safe to try that combination?
I'd appreciate any feedback.

Hello,
It is true that oral antifungals are not without side effects but the benefits may outcome the risks. When taking oral antifungals, the most common reactions are nausea, diarrhea and other gastrointestinal symptoms. Kidneys may also be effected and hence I suggest you to discuss it in detail with your dermatologist.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

Thanks for your comments.
I'm worried about the side effects of oral antifungals, that I've read about.
I was diagnosed by an Internal Medicine MD. I thought after two months I would see a change by now. Should I consult a dermatologist?

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing

You should speak to your doctor to make sure that using Tea tree oil and Nystatin together is safe.

according to this site Tea Tree Oil is a great treatment for Ringworm. Check with your doctor to see if you can use this alone to treat your ringworm.
