Scalp Psoraisis returned in 2 months after salicyclic treatment

My dermatologist prescribed Halosys-S (Halobetasol .05%,Salicyclic Acid 3.00%) for 10 days application but it returned within few months. He also prescribed a shampoo having keto.. and coal tar in it.
So it this problem curable or will i have to use same prescription every few months?
Plus it is rainy season in my country thus skin is too oily..

I swear by classic Head and Shoulders shampoo. The zinc keeps all my scalp allergies at bay. Ive eben used it as a body wash.

You have to use this treament for 10 days up to two weeks and then stopping for 4 weeks, after this start again and continue in a two week / four week break pattern. Psoriasis is not curable most of the times but it is certainly manageable. As far as the shampoos it is perfectly safe not to stop them at all. Keep using them one or two times a week ( not both the same day ) for your break period as well. Bear in mind that Halobetasol contains steroids and shouldnt be used for more than two weeks at a time cos it can cause skin thinning. So by stopping it for a month you re avoiding this side effect. If you feel psoriasis is in remission for more than 4 weeks you can delay the onset of your next treatment. Good luck with your treatment
