My son through a toy very hard, I did'nt see him doing it and I walked straight into the firing line. It really hurt and then I realised blood. Anyway its around the cheek area but more under my eye on the top part of the cheek. It was held together with steri-strips as the dr said it would give a better result. Its not raised. I did tried vitamin e oil on it a month ago which was fine but I noticed I was breaking out and was red on the cheek. And my beautician advised me to stop using it for the moment. I did'nt know if this was from the oil or because I was so swollen and bruised that this was just a part of the swelling going down etc. Anyway I stopped using it and now all I am doing is using sunscreen and still using my normal cleansers and moisturisers. Are you able to tell me if the scar is at its final appearance or is it likely to get better and also I would like to do waht ever I can to make the final appearance better. My dr just said it looks fine, leave it you don't need to apply anything to it but I feel like I should be doing something to help it along. Its my face and I don't like feeling the way i do especially when it stops me living (I know that sound silly to alot of people but to me its real)

Hi,
You have not mentioned what caused it.
You could try a de-melanizing agent OTC.Cosmetic preparations and local demelanizing agents containing various peroxides, peroxy compounds such as peroxysulfates and peroxyborates or reducing agents such as vitamin C, cysteine and colloidal sulfur have been developed and used commonly.
If it is raised and thick you should consider cosmetic surgery as an option.
That is all I can say at the moment.
