Seborrheic Dermatitis question

Seborrheic Dermatitis question

I have had seborrheic dermatitis for a while and got checked out about 5 years ago by a dermatologist.  I always had it on the scalp along my forehead and down the sides of my scalp going through my hair.  I have used a coal-tar based shampoo occasionally and use HeadnShoulders as a regular shampoo.  There always seems to be some pink along my scalp line on one side and using the coal-tar shampoo almost takes it away but not quite.  It hasn't itched in a long time as I always use HeadnShoulders but I wanted to find out if anyone has this on their scalp where it doesn't itch anymore but still looks pink/flaky?  Should I possibly get this checked out or just be thankful that it doesn't itch?

Hi,
I've had SD since 2004 and mine has never really itched much at all.  I'm bald on top and my SD is prevalent across the top of my scalp where I have no hair and does affect my face at times.  Mine is flaky pretty much all of the time although various shampoos and lotions I use keep it from being very noticeable.  I think you're probably safe just being "thankful it doesn't itch", but if you feel uncomfortable about it, by all means have your dermatologist check it out.
