I was diagnosed with acanthosis nigricans (very dark severe darkening of skin) and after spending all this money on products, dermatologist, nothing seemed to work. So this is how I obtained clean underarms with no darkness:

I used the salicylic acid peel 40-60%. According to experts, should only be used once 1-2 months (very strong chemical peel), but due to the severity of my darkness and desperation. I used it once every week. After 4 peels, my skin started to peel rapidly ( my underarm had like 5 layers of dark skin, no kidding) and eventually everything peeled off to reveal clean light underarms. You will not spend any more than $100 overall, maybe even less.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
These dark underarms can be due to hyperpigmentation skin or acanthosis nigricans. This darkening can also occur when an excess of melanin, the brown pigment that produces normal skin color, forms deposits in the skin. Cryosurgery using liquid nitrogen and laser are the other main treatment modalities.

Acanthosis nigricans presents as symmetrical, hyperpigmented, velvety plaques mostly in the folds of skin. It is not itchy and is characterized by hyperpigmentation. My sincere advice is to consult a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
